My partner and I were stuck in Townsville for a week due to weather, so we went to Quarterdeck on a few occasions - and had mixed feelings.Firstly, the beer is cold and reasonably priced - so no issues there. The staff are also generally pleasant and a guy collecting glasses from tables was particularly friendly and even stayed for a short conversation one evening. The food was hit-and-miss. One of the evenings we had burgers (one QD Burger and one Veggie) and we both found them pretty bland. The QD Burger was super chewy, dry, and just not great at all. We also ordered pizzas to the room one evening and found them awfully dry and super unappetising. On the flip side, the most recent visit we had bruschetta, fish and chips, and a Caesar salad - which was all pretty good. The bruschetta was seemingly devoid of cheese, and the Caesar dressing was a bit mayo-ish tasting, but it was overall good. Maybe you just have to choose the right menu options, or maybe some cooks are just better then others, but not a bad place to have a bite or a beer. Maybe will return and review my rating sometime !
Food tasted so good! It came out pretty quickly too. Love the balcony.
Such a great place to visit. Set right on Townsvill's beach. The food is varied and plentiful and the prices reasonable. A place to just chill out on your own or party with a group of friends.
great place for cocktails or TGIF drinks :) the place is always pumping with good vibes and drinks/food are served reasonably quickly. the place offers great views of the ocean with a nice breeze to match on most afternoons. nibbles and canapes are good to go
Have only been here once but will return. Atmosphere was fantastic for a Sunday evening. I hear the pool is also beautiful on a sunny day with the view. Two things I am yet to experience but will return for. Staff we're very helpful.
